Description
Our first binocular device, compatible with 18 mm tubes and PVS14 optics. Its innovative architecture features significant weight reduction without sacrificing stiffness and ergonomics. The bare housing is below 90g, allowing the lightest functional configuration (RPO and optimized hardware) to be at 385g. The functional weight with a MIL-standard configuration, including battery, is below the 500g threshold. The system run with a single AA battery and has the autonomy of about 25h (depending on the tubes). Operation is piloted with a simple push button; the right pod includes a low battery indicator.
The articulated design allows to swing optics for various configurations, such as one eye use, vehicle mounted operations and reduce neck strain when fully stowed. Each pod as an auto-shutoff feature to suppress backsplash light on the helmet, protect the tubes, and save the battery during operations. The pod axes are spring loaded to add friction, ensuring the pods stays in position in every circumstance. Texturing on the pods helps swinging in the wettest conditions. The device has a user-friendly interpupillary distance setting on the back of the bridge, which can be adjusted on the fly without tools. A lanyard loop attachment is conveniently positioned below the dovetail.
Despite the low weight, the device is peculiarly rugged. It exceeds MIL-STD-810G and the 1.5-meter NATO drop test standard.

A simplified ergonomics
The LAB-NVS was design with efficiency in mind. No complicated input required, just put your finger between your eyebrows and you'll easily fond the on/off click button. K.I.S.S.

The system integrates a toolless IPD setting at the back, which can be ajusted on the fly to meet any user IP.
The IP range exceed most systems, from 49mm to 78mm.

Auto Shutoff
The monocular are independently shut-off when swung up. This prevents light backsplash on the helmet and save battery.

Sling Attachement
An hard point is located below the dovetail to anchor paracord or shockcord.

Lightweight
The LAB-NVS is the lightest articulated night vision binocular to date.
